What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system.  This system is comprised of the central nervous system and the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which positively influences the other systems in the body.

CST has also been shown to help with symptoms of emotional and trauma based challenges such as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety.

By facilitating the body's natural and innate healing processes, CST is used to help people with a wide range of healthcare challenges associated with pain and dysfunction.

Testimonials

I first came to see Tara after recently being diagnosed with an acute demyelinating disease. I was suffering from headaches, dizziness, extreme fatigue, and a feeling of hopelessness that I would never fully recover.

Immediately after my first treatment, I began to see improvement in my symptoms. My energy levels consistently improved throughout the course of my treatments, headaches became less severe, the “fogginess” in my head began to lift. Immediately following a treatment I experience a sense of calmness and clarity. Craniosacral therapy has also helped in changing my internal dialogue regarding my own body. It was difficult not to see my body as the enemy, as something that was holding me back, something I had to fight against.

Illness makes your own body feel foreign and dangerous. However, working with Tara has allowed me to change this negative outlook. I have been able to find the strength in my body, and have come to realize how remarkable this strength really is. I think that trust in my ability to heal has been a remarkable gift.

I've always been interested in Craniosacral therapy and really didn't know what to expect. Tara explained what it was that she was doing in terms that I could understand. Throughout the session, we talked about different issues as they came up. Turns out, most of the things we talked about were relevant to what was happening in my body.

She really sussed out certain things that were causing me stress and deftly released the stress. Even though I didn't feel too wound up before the session, I left the session feeling very relaxed and centered. Tara also gave me some different exercises to help reduce tension in areas where I hold stress.

I now stop in frequently to adjust and balance my energy. Thanks, Tara! Would definitely recommend a session if you haven't tried it!
